TALLINN (AFP) -- Consumer prices in Estonia rose by 5.1 percent in January over 12 months, the national statistics office said.

On a monthly comparison, prices rose by 0.9 percent, the statistics showed.

In January 2007 compared with December 2006, the consumer price index was mainly influenced by rising food prices, increased spending on housing, and higher costs for services.
